One of my favorite bands is The Unicorns from Montreal, Canada. They wrote what is probably my favorite song of all time, Peach Moon. It’s short, simple and has beautiful lyrics. It doesn’t need an awesome bass line or catchy refrain. It’s just really nice and unassuming. Sometimes the best measure of song is how well the instrumental part conveys the lyrical part. While the lyrics create stunning imagery, the tone and colour of the music create an emotional feel that matches it almost perfectly.
One of my favorite things is to take a late night walk while listening to this song; it makes everything feel so surreal. And here’s a brilliant little video for it.
While I do also like the other version, also by The Unicorns, this one is my favorite.
