Now, this is how you open a cooking show!

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010A new video from under appreciated synth-wave artist, Charlie Slick. It’s pretty fun.
Ben Folds, Nick Hornby and Pomplamoose
Monday, August 30th, 2010Holy crap! How did Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn get to work with Ben Folds? And Nick Hornby? Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s awesome, but also very surpising.
Kidz Party
Sunday, August 29th, 2010Well, this is something.
Some guy dancing to La Roux
Saturday, August 28th, 2010I love La Roux. I love shag carpet. I love basement paneling. I love sky blue t-shirts. I like those chairs. I can’t get enough dancing.
The Fresh Prince of Doukutsu
Saturday, July 3rd, 2010Finally, crappy 1990s television comes together with really good indie game, Cave Story.
In the Port of Amsterdam
Thursday, July 1st, 2010In my favorite interpretation of the original Jacques Brel song, Scott Walker sings.
Guy playing keyboard while driving a car
Saturday, June 26th, 2010Nothing like being out for an afternoon drive… being awesome.
Why Judy Why
Wednesday, June 16th, 2010An early Billy Joel song from his first album, Cold Spring Harbor. I truly believe Joel was at his best when he was in his thoughtful youth.
Köyhän Pojan Kerjäys
Monday, June 14th, 2010By Haikara, my new favorite Finnish band from 1972. Gotta love that album art too. Here’s another one.

Moonstream
Sunday, April 25th, 2010In a world where Adobe Flash may be a dieing medium, it might be important to remember that there are still some cool implementations of Flash out there. Moonstream gives you an ever changing stream if images and music to stimulate your mind whenever it needs, well, stimulating. And if that this website doesn’t do it for you, try watching this amazing fan made music video for Gobbledigook.
When I’m Sixty-Four
Monday, April 12th, 2010A great cover of When I’m Sixty-Four by the Beatles – perfect for anytime of day as the days turn to summer.
Wolfram Tones
Saturday, April 10th, 2010From the math jerks at Wolfram, here’s WolframTones. It’s pretty neat — you choose a music genre and it creates a unique song based on it. Here’s my best work. The music it outputs is hardly that impressive, but for being a piece of software, it’s really interesting. Too bad they implemented it using midi.
Early vocoder
Saturday, April 3rd, 2010An ancestor of the more popular vocoders of the past four decades. If only our culture could keep up with its technological advances.
Where is My Mind
Monday, March 29th, 2010A beautiful piano over of Where is My Mind by The Pixies. Arranged and performed by Maxence Cyrin, whose work is definitely worth checking out. The music is set to old-timey 1920s movie, The Mysterious Lady. I’ve never seen the film, but the images add much to the performance. He also has piano covers of Daft Punk, Justice, Aphex Twin and Yellow Magic Orchestra, all of which are just as brilliant. Just, so graceful.
Wizards & Warriors vs Mr Crowley
Friday, March 26th, 2010Listening to Mr Crowley on the radio today, I realized that the ending sequence of Mr Crowley and the title theme of Wizards and Warriors have the same chord progression. Watch a bit of the above videos for the comparison. What a catchy sequence!
Great cover of Time in a Bottle
Friday, March 19th, 2010I don’t think making a respectable cover of a Jim Croce song would be an easy thing to do, but all the way from Taiwan, this man does it. If you’re not a fan of this song, you can always just turn down the volume and enjoy the green screen effects. I just wish he would do a cover of my favorite Jim Croce song.
Words are very unnecessary
Friday, March 12th, 2010Green screen, chiptune, Depeche Mode. Full screen to fully experience the journey, be patient. Brilliant.
