From the relatively new indie pop band out of Montreal, Clues, we have an unofficial music video for You Have My Eyes Now. Tim Heidecker his hilarious and surprisingly makes this otherwise simple four minute music video quite captivating. Also, it’s worth noting that the black haired woman who appears at the beginning with Tim is actually his real life wife, Marilyn Porayko.

Sunday, January 10th, 2010Freaks and Geeks and Billy Joel
Wednesday, December 30th, 2009I think that if you’re young enough, you probably went through at least some kind of Billy Joel phase. It most likely happened somewhere between the ages of 6 and 14 — with varying intensity. I don’t think his music is anything earth changing, but for whatever reason, for me, it just seems to be almost synonymous with growing up.
While watching the Freaks and Geeks, with its amazing soundtrack, I really like that the episode Carded and Discarded fittingly features three Billy Joel songs. They’re played whenever the three geeks, Bill, Sam and Neil, spend time with the first real girl of their interest, Maureen Sampson. The songs: C’Etait Toi, Rosalinda’s Eyes and Don’t Ask Me Why. Whenever they’re played, it’s really reminiscent of being in high school, going through those first awkward times myself.
And with that thought, enjoy this video.
Picturesque Philadelphia
Sunday, December 27th, 2009YouTube user dws35 has uploaded some nice HD videos. I don’t know what type of imaging device he’s using, but the picture is quite stunning. It seems most of his videos are shot in and around Philadelphia. And thankfully, this guy also has good taste in music too, unlike so many other videos on the YouTube.
Enjoy two of my favourites above.
Little video for Peach Moon
Friday, December 25th, 2009One of my favorite bands is The Unicorns from Montreal, Canada. They wrote what is probably my favorite song of all time, Peach Moon. It’s short, simple and has beautiful lyrics. It doesn’t need an awesome bass line or catchy refrain. It’s just really nice and unassuming. Sometimes the best measure of song is how well the instrumental part conveys the lyrical part. While the lyrics create stunning imagery, the tone and colour of the music create an emotional feel that matches it almost perfectly.
One of my favorite things is to take a late night walk while listening to this song; it makes everything feel so surreal. And here’s a brilliant little video for it.
While I do also like the other version, also by The Unicorns, this one is my favorite.
